In which ways does it operate
Project activities are reviewed and monitored at the country level by a local Advisory Group composed of local government, European Commission and UNFPA Representatives. Funding is channelled via UNFPA. The Initiative is supervised by the Director of the Asia and Pacific Division of UNFPA New York and managed and coordinated by the RHIYA Central Unit (CU) in Brussels.
In each of the seven target countries, an Umbrella Project Support Unit (UPSU) provides evaluation, technical backstopping, support and training where applicable. All UPSUs also initiate and foster linkages and synergy, not only amongst country level RHIYA projects, but also between RHIYA and non-RHIYA actors and activities.
In order to strengthen synergies at a regional level, all RHIYA actors participate in a culture of knowledge and information sharing.
