When was it established

A contract between the European Union and the UNFPA for the RHIYA was signed on 28th March 2003. Programme implementation of this three-year Initiative began between August and October 2003.

The forerunner Initiative, the RHI, was officially established on 30th January 1997, when the Financial Agreement was signed. Country level activities were taken up in 1998.
